It looked as if T-Bones ace Greg Bicknell might have a long night ahead of him Friday night in Winnipeg, as two T-Bone errors led to two first-inning Goldeye runs. But Bicknell settled down nicely and an onslaught of Kansas City hits led to seven runs, giving the T-Bones a 7-2 win in front of a season-high 7,833 at CanWest Global Park in Winnipeg, MB, Canada.

The first-inning errors, committed by shortstop Chad Sosebee and right fielder Eric Vega, resulted in two Winnipeg runs. Sosebee, making his first 2005 start at shortstop, relaxed after the first-inning jitters and played flawless defense the rest of the night. The two runs would be all that Winnipeg would score against Bicknell (W, 5-0), as the veteran righty blanked the Goldeyes for his final seven innings of work.

Cody Nowlin led the way on offense for the T-Bones, pounding three hits for the second time this season. Nowlin scored the go-ahead run in the fourth inning and drove in the fifth and sixth Kansas City runs with a fifth-inning single against starter Adam Thomas (L, 1-3) and ninth-inning double.

The T-Bones were happy to welcome third baseman Brandon Jones back into the fold. After leaving the team for the past week to attend to a family emergency, Jones returned to the T-Bones in time for the longest bus trip of the season. His seventh-inning single extended his hitting streak to five games and he scored the final run of the game on a ninth-inning wild pitch by Goldeye reliever Ivan Hernandez.

Adam Clay struck out the side in the ninth inning for the T-Bones as they earned their second consecutive win.

Tomorrow night's game is a 7:05 start in Winnipeg. The second game of the series, the game will pit T-Bones starter Jonathan Krysa against former Royal Shawn Sedlacek. The game will be broadcast live on KCKN 1340 AM and www.tbonesbaseball.com.

Notes: Eddie Pearson extended his hitting streak to six and consecutive games driving in a run streak to eight... the T-Bones kept their one-game lead in the South with the St. Paul Saints' 4-2 win over Lincoln... Bicknell now has 117 career wins and is 15-1 since July 10, 2004.
