KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones defeated the Schaumburg Flyers 5-3 in front of 6,263 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, thanks to seven shutout innings from starter Anthony Boughner (pictured) as they finished off the sweep and improved to 6-5 in the second half.  Boughner improved to 4-3, allowing six hits while striking out four and walking four.

The T-Bones scored first, getting four runs on four hits, including RBI singles from Patrick Arlis, Aharon Eggleston and Rob Watson to put them up 4-0 heading into the third.  Calvin Pickering added another in the third with a solo home run off Schaumburg starter Dan Grybash. Grybash gave up five runs, four earned, on seven hits in seven innings and was credited with the loss.

The Flyers finally broke through in the eighth courtesy of Christian Snavely’s two RBI single off reliever Travis Schlichting, who allowed three earned runs on four hits in two-thirds of an inning.  Snavely later scored on an RBI single by Kyle Leon to pull the Flyers within two.  Matt Schweitzer then entered the game and gave up a single to Jimmy Hurst before inducing a fly out to Billy Malone to end the inning.  Schweitzer went on to get the save for the T-Bones, going one and one-third innings, allowing one hit and striking out two.
