10th Annual Legacy Awards (6:30 p.m., Saturday, January 30—Grand Ballroom, Kansas City Convention Center): Some of Major League Baseball’s biggest and brightest stars will light up the Grand Ballroom of the Kansas City Convention Center this Saturday when the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM) presents the 10th Annual Legacy Awards. The event annually honors the best Major League Baseball players, managers and executives with awards named for Negro League legends such as Cool Papa Bell, Josh Gibson and Buck O’Neil. The star-studded, red carpet celebration will be hosted by Emmy award-winning broadcaster and entertainer Roy Firestone and includes a post-event party featuring Grammy award-wining recording artists the Dazz Band.
Honorees include Kansas City Royals Cy Young Award winning pitcher Zack Greinke (Bullet Rogan Award), National League MVP Albert Pujols (Oscar Charleston & Gibson Awards), Hall of Famer and current ESPN Baseball Analyst Joe Morgan (Jackie Robinson Lifetime Achievement Award) and baseball commissioner Bud Selig (Buck O’Neil Award).
