Joliet starter Todd Privett held the T-Bones scoreless though three and two-thirds innings before the game was suspended with a 2-0 score due to weather.

The JackHammers added to their lead when the game resumed on Saturday, plating a run in the fifth off Todd Moser with a sacrifice fly by Roberto Mena. Kansas City answered in the bottom of the frame with a solo home run by Keith Hernandez off Rory Shortell that brought the score to 3-1.

Gabriel Martinez walked with two outs in the sixth and scored on an RBI single by Ray Sadler off William Jackel that pulled the T-Bones within one, but Kansas City could not push another run across and fell, 3-2.

Santos took the loss, allowing two runs on three hits in four innings and striking out two. Wes Alsup (1-0) earned the victory, throwing one and two-thirds scoreless innings of relief, surrendering one hit and two walks, striking out two.
