The Kansas City Kansas Convention & Visitors Bureau has selected Kansas City T-Bones Vice President and General Manager Chris Browne as its 2011 Excellence in Hospitality Award winner.
Browne, who has been with the T-Bones since day one, is entering his 20th season in professional baseball, and his third as general manager for the team. He began his baseball career as a bat boy and clubhouse attendant for the Kansas City Royals during their 1985 World Series season. After graduating from the University of Missouri, Browne first served as Director of Stadium Operations for the Double-A Jacksonville Suns before returning to Kansas City as Assistant General Manager of the Kansas City Comets.
“This award is a testament to Chris’s commitment to customer service,” T-Bones President Adam Ehlert said. “We’re very proud and appreciative of his exhibition of ‘FUN…Well Done,’ especially as recognized by the CVB.”
The Excellence in Hospitality Award was specifically designed to honor employees in the Wyandotte County hospitality industry who has consistently exemplified professionalism, hospitality and exceptional customer service. The award is chosen by the CVB staff.
“Chris is much more than the general manger of the T-Bones,” Bridgette Jobe, Executive Director of the Kansas City Kansas Convention & Visitors Bureau added. “He is a great promoter of Kansas City, KS and always goes beyond the call of duty when working with our visitors. His reputation is unparalleled, and he makes my job, and the job of the CVB staff, easier.”
