The Kansas City T-Bones are excited to announce the return of the Willie Wilson Legends Game for the 2012 season.
This exhibition contest, scheduled for August 11 at 7:05 p.m. at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, is the perfect opportunity for fans to see former major league greats take the field once again. Past contests have featured appearances by legends such as MLB Hall of Famers Fergie Jenkins and Ozzie Smith, Royals Hall of Famer and three-time 20-game winner Dennis Leonard, 1985 World Series winner and former T-Bones hitting coach Darryl Motley, 1993 World Series hero Joe Carter and all-time great closer Lee Smith; as well as memorable moments such as an appearance by Kansas City icon Buck O’Neil and Royals Hall of Famer Amos Otis depositing a home run over the 18-foot wall in left field.
“This is going to be another fun night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark this summer,” T-Bones’ Vice President and General Manager Chris Browne said. “It gives us the chance to give back to our fans and sponsors, who over the years have even had the opportunity to play alongside the legends in this great event.”
A full roster of legends, various media personnel and sponsors will be announced at a later date. Tickets to the event are $10 for reserved seats and $7 for general admission/berm. A VIP package, including a post-game meet and greet with the legends, is also available for $100. Call the T-Bones box office at 913-328-5618 for more information.
