08/24/2003 9:46 AM - Fargo-Moorhead jumped out to an early lead, getting a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning to go up 2-0.
Kansas City got a run in the top of the third inning on Taber Maier's RBI single to make the score 6-1. Kansas City cut the lead to 6-3 in the fifth inning, as Eddie Pearson's double scored Maier and Stanton Cameron. Fargo-Moorhead added two more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Kansas City starter Erik Grunwald (4-5) took the loss, lasting just 1.1 innings. He allowed five runs on four hits and two walks. Mike Hoyt came in for Grunwald and pitched for 5 innings giving up five hts and three runs. Bryan Felkel faced only one batter and gave up a hit. Tony Gomes was brought in and faced two batters with no hits. Jason Davis was brought in to finish out the game. He pitched one full inning without a hit, but it was too late to save the T-Bones from a loss.
