08/26/2003 9:50 AM - While T-Bones starter Jon McDonald was keeping Sioux City's batters in check, the T-Bones struck in the first, third, seventh, and eighth, innings with runs.
Although the score was 2-0 by the fourth inning, the T-Bones took care of business by adding three more insurance runs. David Keesee singled to left field. Keesee advanced to second on a wild pitch after Skip Adams flew out to right. Taber Maier walked. Another wild pitch from Sioux City's pitcher Springston advanced Maier to second and Keesee to third on a wild pitch. Rick Prieto walked. With the bases loaded Eddie Pearson singled to right field to score Maier and Keesee. Freshly off the Disabled List Ray Brown singled to right field to score Prieto.
After that big inning for the T-Bones it was McDonald's job to keep the Explorers scoreless. With only a little trouble in the sixth, when he walked back-to-back batters, McDonald kept his control. He had only six hits for the game, and struck out seven. McDonalds teammates added runs in the seventh and eighth, including Jack Jones solo home run at the top of the order in the seventh.
The T-Bones play Sioux City again tonight at 7:05 p.m. Tune in to WHB 810 for game coverage, or check score updates on www.northernleague.com. The Fargo Moorhead Redhawks lost last night to Lincoln, so the T-Bones playoff hopes are still alive.
