With pitchers and catchers reporting all over affiliated baseball, be sure to keep an eye on former T-Bone Patrick Arlis. Arlis signed with the Texas Rangers in January with an invitation to spring training.
In 46 games with the T-Bones Arlis hit .262 with a home run and 19 runs batted in but was better known for his defense.
“He was exactly what we needed at that point of the season, a great defensive catcher that handled our staff very well,” said T-Bones manager Andy McCauley.
Arlis was second in the league throwing out 34 of 53 attempted base stealers.
The Rangers reporting date Thursday, February 14. They call Surprise Arizona home for the spring and share a facility with the Kansas City Royals.
The T-Bones would like to wish Patrick Arlis good luck with his future in the Texas Rangers organization.
