KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones got back in the win column tonight with a 13-1 victory over the Schaumburg Flyers in front of 6,251 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The T-Bones took a lead they would not relinquish off Steve Shippey in the second on an RBI double from John Martin, scoring Neb Brown from third.  Brown stole second and third after walking to lead off the frame.  McCallum drove in Martin with another double to push the score to 2-0.

The Flyers answered in the top of the third inning when Ryan Luther doubled off T-Bones pitcher Reid Hamblet, bringing them within one.  Hamblet allowed just the one run on five hits over seven innings to improve to 1-0. Kansas City opened the game with nine runs over the next two innings, scoring three in the third and six in the fourth.  Jim Fasano (pictured) started the scoring with a double to left-center, driving in Brad Correll for the first run in the third.  A single by Kevin Mahar sent Fasano to third with nobody out.  Mahar stole second base and advanced to third on a throwing error by catcher Lance Koenig, scoring Fasano from third.  Brown then singled home Mahar to extend the lead to 5-1.

The T-Bones scored all six fourth-inning runs with two outs, beginning with a two-run home run from Fasano.  Shippey then walked Mahar before surrendering an RBI double to Brown.  Luke Haggerty came in for relief and hit the first batter he faced, Nick Jaros.  Martin then cleared the bases with a three-run home run, his first of the season, to push the score to 11-1.

Jaros drove in the final two runs for Kansas City with a home run in the eighth off Bryan Hansen.

Rick Hummel and Tag Horner each threw scoreless innings to finish off the game.  Jim Fasano finished four-for-five with two doubles, a home run and three RBI.  He fell just a triple short of the cycle.

The T-Bones evened the series 1-1 with the victory and send Rick Rivas to the mound tomorrow opposite Matthew Varner for the Flyers.  First pitch is scheduled for 5:05.
