11/19/2003 10:10 AM - Preparations continue for the Nights of a Million Lights, which will commence November 21 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, KS. The holiday celebration will begin this coming Friday and run every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through December 21st.
As would be expected, the T-Bones staff are hard at work readying the ballpark for the holidays. Come see Santa Claus and have your picture taken with him; enjoy the sweet sounds of local church and school choirs singing carols; even host your family or holiday party in one of our full-service suites!
In addition to the presence of Salvation Army bell-ringers who will be clanging their familiar red claxons, CommunityAmerica Ballpark will serve as a Toys for Tots drop spot. This is a great way to bring the holiday spirit to the greater Kansas City area, as the holiday season is about giving to those less fortunate, remarked Adam Ehlert, Kansas City T-Bones General Manager.
Area schools are even getting into the act, with a variety of schools from the Kansas City, KS school district slated to trim over two dozen trees. In fact, a good number of the trees have already been trimmed! Schlagle HS and Argentine Middle School, among others, have already taken part in the festivities.
The well-known visage of Sizzle, the red T-Bones mascot, can also be seen at CommunityAmerica Ballpark during the holiday celebration. Fans will be hard-pressed to recognize our lova-bull, however, as hes decked out just like Santa Claus - hat, beard, and all!
Once again, the Nights of a Million Lights will take place from 5:00 to 9:00 on the prescribed weekend evenings. Admission is only $2.00 for those over 12, and parking, as always, is free. Please feel free to call the T-Bones front office at 913/328-2255 for details. Happy Holidays!
