Love is in the Air at CommunityAmerica Ballpark

The Kansas City T-Bones hosted two marriage proposals Friday, May 29, at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Steven Call asked Lisa Rogers pregame after the first pitch.  Call secretly changed into a T-Bones uniform and catcher’s gear while Rogers prepared to throw the final toss.  After Call caught the first four pitches, Rogers stepped to the mound.  Once Call received the pitch, two T-Bones personnel directed Rogers to the video board to read “Will you marry me, Lisa?”   She said yes and accepted the ring in front of 7,022 fans.

Lt. Col. Suai proposed to his girlfriend Michele during the third inning.  The couple had their first date at the July 4 game last season.  Suai and Michele sat in the KCI High-Fly Zone bleachers when she was chosen as the Price Chopper Fan of the Game.  A surprising “Will you Marry me, Michele?” appeared on the video board.  She accepted the proposal and the ring.  Suai is currently stationed at a military school in Fort Leavenworth and transfers to Texas within the next month.

The T-Bones host a few marriage proposals each season.  Contact Director of Promotions Colin Aldrich at for more information.  Upcoming promotions on the current homestand include Pay You to Park Monday brought to you by CommunityAmerica Credit Union and Verizon Wireless’ Baseball Giveaway on Tuesday night.
