See you next Season!

Yankees Edge Phillies in Staff Picks

10/28/2009 9:14 AM -

In the second annual intraoffice poll, the T-Bones front office has chosen the New York Yankees as the 2009 World Series Champions.  For the second straight season, the T-Bones staff has voted against the Philadelphia Phillies, who look to become the first NL team to repeat as champions since the 1975-76 Cincinnati Reds.

With a tally of 7-5, the 12 members of the office staff chose the Yankees with the majority of both sides projecting that the series will go six games.  A win would give the Yankees their 27th championship while the Phillies look to win number three.

“I think the Yankees have the stronger starting rotation,” said AGM Eric Marshall.  “Along with Mariano Rivera, who I believe the Phillies left-handed sluggers will have trouble with, I have to take the Yankees in six.”

Director of Ticket Operations, Kurt Sieker, couldn’t disagree more.

“Marsh is completely wrong,” added Sieker.  “The Phillies have the stronger rotation and I think the Phillies sluggers are going to have success against Rivera and the rest of the staff.”

The newest member of the staff, Director of Promotions Emily Hoskins, was hopeful in her choice.

“I hate the Yankees, which means they will probably win.  However, I’m hoping the Phillies will prove me wrong and take the series in six games.”

The World Series begins tonight at Yankee Stadium with first pitch set for 6:57.  Coverage on FOX begins at 6:30.
