The Kansas City T-Bones used a five-run fourth inning to help propel them to a 10-4 win over the Grand Prairie AirHogs this afternoon in Topeka, KS.

Kansas City opened the scoring quickly, picking up their first run on an RBI double by Keanon Simon in the bottom of the first inning.  Simon later scored on a triple by Jimmy Mojica to make the score 2-0 after one.  Jake Blackwood (pictured) added the T-Bones third run in the second inning with a solo home run, his first of the spring.

T-Bones starter Ryan Knippschild threw three scoreless innings before surrendering a two-run home run to Aaron Garza in the top of the fourth.  Knippschild left after three and one-thirds innings having surrendered two runs on two hits.  Stephen Stewart replaced the left-hander and threw two and two-thirds scoreless innings of relief for Kansas City.

After an RBI groundout by Keith Hernandez, Simon drove in two more runs with a triple in the fourth inning.  Kansas City then picked up two more tallies on two passed balls to cap off their five-run frame.

Blackwood drove in another run on a single in the seventh and scored on a double by Ryan Fox to end the T-Bones scoring in the game.  Grand Prairie added single runs in the eighth and ninth innings on RBI groundouts to cap the scoring at 10-4.

Kansas City now heads to Lincoln, NE for an afternoon game against the Saltdogs on Friday, May 7.  First pitch is set for noon at Haymarket Park.  The T-Bones then head to Wichita, KS for Saturday and Sunday matchups against the Wingnuts.  First pitch of those contests are set for 7:05 p.m. and 5:05 p.m. respectively.
