Former T-Bones closer Justin James, who appeared in five games with the Oakland Athletics in 2010, has been claimed off waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers and placed on their 40-man roster.

James began the 2010 season with the T-Bones, making an immediate impact with a perfect ninth inning to earn the save on Opening Day in Gary, IN. The former University of Missouri hurler allowed just six hits while striking out 10 and walking one in 10 and two-thirds innings before having his contract purchased by the A’s on June 18.

Oakland sent James to Double-A Midland where he surrendered just 11 hits while striking out 21 and walking seven in 19 and two-thirds innings before earning a promotion to Triple-A Sacramento. After 16 games with the River Cats in which he allowed 14 hits while striking out 28 and walking nine in 19 and two-thirds innings, James was selected as a September call-up for the A’s.

James made his MLB debut at Yankee Stadium on September 2, striking out the first batter he faced, Robinson Cano. After allowing one run on three singles, James struck out a swinging Derek Jeter to finish the inning.

The right-hander is currently playing for the Phoenix Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League.
