Dwayne White went three-for-four with a home run and two RBI to pace the Kansas City T-Bones offense as they defeated the Wichita Wingnuts, 8-4, in an exhibition contest at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on Friday night.

The first four T-Bones batters reached safely against Anthony Shawler in the first inning, with an RBI single by Rico Washington giving Kansas City an early 1-0 lead. The T-Bones second run of the frame scored on a double-play groundout by White before Brian Joynt drove in the third run with a single to left. Joynt later scored on an error to push the score to 4-0 after one.

A sacrifice fly by Jorge Delgado pushed in the Wingnuts first run against Reid Santos in the second inning, making the score 4-1. Santos pitched three innings for Kansas City, surrendering the lone run on two hits while striking out one.

White homered to start the bottom of the third and give Kansas City a 5-1 advantage. Shawler was charged with five runs, four earned, on five hits in his three innings of work.

Drew Graham and Kyle Dahman each threw two scoreless innings for the T-Bones before giving way to Rusty Jones in the top of the eighth. Jones retired the first batter with a strikeout before surrendering a double and a walk to the next two hitters. Brent Clevlen followed with a three-run shot, bringing Wichita within one.

Kansas City quickly answered with three runs in their half of the eighth, pushing the final score to 8-4. White drove in the first tally with a single to center and Joynt immediately followed with an RBI double. A wild pitch to the next batter brought White home to cap off the scoring.

Kansas City now prepares to face off against the Lincoln Saltdogs Saturday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in another exhibition matchup. First pitch is set for 7:05.
