The Principal Financial Group® has announced The Principal® Financial Dreams Tour, a new event that will travel to 15 minor league baseball parks in 2011. The event, an evolution of the popular Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest, will be held inside CommunityAmerica Ballpark prior to and during the game on July 7.
The Principal Financial Dreams Tour is honoring players who have lived out their dreams and the special guest for the evening will be Kansas City Royals Hall of Famer, and three-time 20-game winner Dennis Leonard. Fans can get a free keepsake photo with Dennis as part of The Principal® Financial Dreams Tour Financial Expo.
Leonard spent his entire 12-season major league career with the Royals, posting a 144-106 career record while sporting a 3.70 ERA in 312 career games. He finished in the top-10 in Cy Young award voting twice, including a fourth-place finish in 1977 when he paced the American League in wins with 20. Leonard also led the league in games started in 1978, 1980 and 1981.
In addition to meeting Dennis, fans can win $2,500 and play interactive games while rounding the four bases of the Financial Expo. They can also take home great prizes all while learning how they can secure their financial future.
“Our hope is that The Principal can make this experience more than just a day at the park. We invite fans to help celebrate America’s national pastime while providing them access to free, simple, financial education tips and tools that everyone can use,” said Mary O’Keefe, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, The Principal.
During the tour, The Principal will highlight a new integrated financial education campaign, Dream Again with The Principal. The campaign provides easy-to-use resources, including the Principal Dreamcatcher, which helps people put their financial pictures into clear focus to help them make their dreams reality.
To bring the Dream Again concept to life at the ballpark, fans will have the opportunity to learn about the “Four Bases of Financial Security,” through interactive games and displays:
The Four Bases activities will be fun, family-friendly and provide fans with a bit of information to help them get their financial futures on track.
