The Kansas City T-Bones (35-39) fell to the Sioux City Explorers (38-36), 7-2, on Tuesday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
Jarvis allowed just one more run on an RBI single by Johnny Bowden in the seventh inning. The right-hander took the win after allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits over seven innings.
The Explorers broke the game open in the fourth, scoring four runs on four hits, two walks and a hit batter to extend their lead to 5-1. Sioux City added a single run in the seventh as they chased Santos with one out in the inning.
Santos suffered the loss after allowing six runs on 11 hits over six and one-third innings.
Sioux City capped the score at 7-2 with a single tally off Martin Dewald in the top of the eighth. Drew Graham threw a scoreless ninth to finish the game for the T-Bones.
Ray Sadler went 0-for-four in the contest to snap a 13-game hit streak and a 21 game on-base streak. The veteran outfielder hit .420 over the 13-game stretch.
Kansas City will send Kris Johnson (2-2, 3.68) to face Richard Salazar (6-4, 4.64) and the Explorers on Wednesday night in game two of the three-game set. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
