07/09/2004 1:14 PM - July 9, 2004

KANSAS CITY – Designated hitter Eddie Pearson will start for the South Division in the 2004 Northern League All-Star game at Silver Cross Stadium in Joliet, Ill., on July 20, the T-Bones announced Friday. The league’s reigning MVP received the most votes of any South Division player and will be Kansas City’s lone representative in the exhibition game.

Pearson is one of the most feared hitters in the NL and is ranked among the league’s leaders in five offensive categories, including batting average (.373), hits (60), RBI (43), on-base percentage (.443), and slugging percentage (.627). He was named Northern League Player of the Week on June 28 and hit .418 with four home runs and 31 RBI in the month of June.

Voting for this year’s starters was conducted by Northern League managers, radio announcers, and select media representatives.
