FARGO, N.D. – Kansas City won its fourth series in August as the T-Bones pounded a dozen hits and got a three-hit outing from starter Dustin Loggins in a 7-5 win over Fargo-Moorhead on Sunday afternoon at Newman Outdoor Field.
Trailing 1-0, the T-Bones put together a three-run second inning, thanks in part to a two-run double from Luis Rivera and a RBI groundout from Justin Bass against Fargo starter Taylor Stanton (8-4).
The T-Bones added runs in the third and fifth innings when Petey Paramore delivered an RBI double in the third and Brandon Jones hit a solo home run in the fifth. After three home runs in Saturday’s game, Jones now has four homers in two games. Sunday’s long ball gave Kansas City a 5-2 lead over the RedHawks.
Loggins (7-5) picked up the win as he allowed four runs, walked three and struck out five in six innings. Closer Chad Robinson gave up a solo home run to Keith Brachold, but picked up his eighth save of the season. That was the first hit and run allowed by Robinson since July 30.
Kansas City, which took two out of three this weekend from Fargo, has won three of its last four series and four overall in August.
The T-Bones (39-54) have Monday off before beginning their last home series of 2013 on Tuesday, with four games against Gary SouthShore. Tickets are available by calling the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 913-328-5618 or at tbonesbaseball.com.
