The Kansas City T-Bones, in partnership with the Wyandotte County Parks Foundation and the Unified Government, opened two TURF-funded accessible playgrounds in Wyandotte County on Thursday: Rosedale Park (pictured) and City Park North.

The T-Bones Uncommitted Recreation Fund (TURF) was created in partnership with the Unified Government, when the T-Bones began play in Wyandotte County in 2003, with a portion of ticket sales devoted to it. The fund is administered by the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. Since that time the T-Bones have provided more than $700,000 in funding to various Wyandotte County Parks and Recreation projects, including a skate park, a spray park, ADA-accessible playgrounds, and baseball and softball fields.

"We're grateful to our T-Bones fans," said T-Bones President Adam Ehlert. "Their support of the team has given us the opportunity to invest in our community through TURF."
