GARY, Ind. – Kansas City committed four errors that led to five unearned runs as Gary SouthShore scored in every inning except the first Friday night and beat the T-Bones 11-4 in the first game of their doubleheader at U.S. Steel Yard.

The RailCats scored first thanks to a leadoff triple in the second inning from Ryan Babineau off Kansas City starting pitcher Casey Barnes (3-5). Babineau scored when Josh Romanski grounded out to shortstop Vladimir Frias.

The RailCats then capitalized off of two T-Bones errors in the third inning, adding four more runs and taking a 5-0 lead. The bleeding didn’t stop, as Kansas City committed two more errors in the fourth inning and fell behind 7-1. Barnes, who committed one error, gave up seven runs in his 3 1/3 innings, but only two were earned.

The T-Bones biggest offensive presence came in the fifth inning when Matt Padgett connected on a three-run home run, his fifth homer of the season that brought Kansas City back to within 7-4.

Game two of the doubleheader began at approximately 9:30 p.m. CT. The game can be heard in the Kansas City area on 1660-AM or worldwide at
