KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones announced they have signed Blake Holovach to a contract for the 2015 season.

Holovach, 24 (03-27-91), is a 6-foot-5 and 205-pound left-handed pitcher out of Overland Park, Kan. The Seattle Mariners selected Holovach in the 27th round of the 2012 MLB June Amateur Draft out of the University of Missouri. He spent the majority of the 2014 season at single-A Clinton, where he went 7-6 with a 4.10 ERA in 26 games (10 starts). He struck out 62 and walked 38 in 85 2/3 innings.

“Blake will come in and compete for a spot during spring training,” said T-Bones manager John Massarelli.

In three professional seasons, which includes pitching one winter in the Australian Baseball League, Holovach is 12-18 with a 4.31 ERA and 192 strikeouts in 259 innings. Holovach, who didn’t begin pitching until the summer before his senior year at Blue Valley West High School, started his collegiate career at Coffeyville Community College before transferring to Missouri.

The T-Bones open the 2015 regular season at home on May 22 against Lincoln. For tickets, call the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 913-328-5618.
