After an introduction of newlyweds Becky Fugate and Dan Hart in a pre-game wedding reminiscent of "Bull Durham", T-Bones fans were introduced to rookie third baseman Brandon Jones.

One night after collecting his first professional hit, Jones celebrated another first... and second. The third basemen smashed two homers, including a tie-breaking shot in the bottom of the seventh, to the lead the T-Bones to a 4-2 victory over the Edmonton Cracker-Cats in front of 6,111 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. The win is the T-Bones' first of the season and evens their record at 1-1.

Kansas City RHP Greg Bicknell got the win by having a solid evening on the hill in his first appearance of the season. The veteran struck out eight batters while scattering five hits and allowed only one earned run in seven innings of work. The T-Bone bullpen allowed one run over the next two innings in relief and righty Derek Forbes retired the side in the ninth to record his first save of the season.

During a night of marital bliss and fireworks it was Jones that was explosive. He accounted for all four of the T-Bones' runs and was responsible for two of the team's three hits. Jones is now 3-for-6 and leads the team with a .500 BA.

The first half of the contest was a pitcher's duel between Bicknell and Edmonton starting pitcher Ira Brown. After striking out the lead off hitter Stubby Clapp in the top of the first, Bicknell surrendered a long home run to Cracker-Cat shortstop Ricky Magdaleno. However, he quickly settled down striking out five batters over the next three innings and not allowing another run. After allowing Jones' home run in the bottom of the second, Brown retired the next 14 batters before the T-Bone third baseman homered again.

The series will conclude Sunday night at 5:05 pm. The game is the first Senior Night of the season, presented by Humana, and also the first Bob Evans Kids Run the Bases after the game.
