T-Bones Return to CommunityAmerica Ballpark for Seven-Game Homestand

07/25/2005 3:27 PM - After a three-day all-star break and a weekend trip to Schaumburg to play the Flyers, the T-Bones return to CommunityAmerica Ballpark to begin a seven-game homestand beginning tonight. The T-Bones (4-6) will play host to the Lincoln Saltdogs (5-4) for a thee-game series and conclude the stay with a four-game set against the Joliet JackHammers (2-7). Both the Saltdogs and JackHammers are Southern Divison foes and will be battling the T-Bones for the final coveted playoff spot for the team with the division’s best second-half record.

Lincoln will be visiting CommunityAmerica Ballpark for the second time this season. The Saltdogs were in Kansas City May 31-Aug. 2 and lost two of three games including a 3-0 loss in which T-Bones starter Jon McDonald threw a complete game shutout. After finishing fourth in the South Division’s first half, the Saltdogs currently stand tied with Gary as division leaders in the second half. The Saltdogs are lead by all-star outfielder Cory Harris and his league leading .371 batting average. The 2005 Northern League home run derby champ has slugged 16 long balls this season and also leads the league in extra base hits (46) and runs scored (68).

Kansas City returns home after splitting a four-game series in Schaumburg against the Flyers. The series was highlighted by an 11-2 drubbing of Schaumburg in the finale in which T-Bones starter Jonathan Krysa pitched eight innings and struck out nine in picking up his fourth win of the season. First baseman Ray Brown and outfielder Greg Jacobs enter the series with hot bats as both are batting at a scorching .400 clip in their last 10 games. Pitching on only three days rest, T-Bones ace Greg Bicknell and his league-leading 10 wins will take the hill for the first game of the series and will be followed by Jon McDonald and David Viane.
