See you next Season!

T-Bones and JackHammers Set for Four-Game Series at CommunityAmerica Ballpark

07/28/2005 2:13 PM - The Joliet JackHammers (2-10) and T-Bones (5-8) will square off beginning tonight in game one of a four-game set that runs through Sunday. The series is the last for the T-Bones during their current seven-game homestand before departing on their longest road trip of the season. After Sunday, the T-Bones will travel to Gary, Joliet and Lincoln to play their Southern Division foes and will not return to CommunityAmerica Ballpark until Friday, August 12.

The JackHammers return to Kansas City for the second time this season, but this time comes to town struggling, losing eight of their last ten ballgames. The recent slide has left Joliet in last place in the division and five games behind the pace in the early going of the second half. The JackHammers are lead by the offensive-minded Jayson Drobiak. The slugger leads the team in batting average (.332), home runs (16), and RBI (64). At the top of Joliet’s lineup resides a familiar face in former Royals outfielder Jermaine Allensworth. Allensworth was traded by the New York Mets to Kansas City and played for the Royals in 1998.

The T-Bones look to get off on the right foot after losing two of three from Lincoln. Included in the losses was last night’s defeat in which the T-Bones led 4-3 going into the ninth and eventually lost 9-5. Ray Brown continues to swing a hot bat for the T-Bones going 5-13 (.385) in the Lincoln series with a home run and four RBI.

Before the T-Bones begin their longest road trip of the season, come out to the park and don’t miss the upcoming promotions. Tonight is Rick Prieto Bobblehead Night presented by Yellow Book.
