10/12/2006 5:06 PM - KANSAS CITY, KS T-Bones fans are used to ballplayers wielding baseball bats as they take the field at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. But on October 28, its going to be heavy metal bands brandishing guitars at the home of the T-Bones as part of the 98.9 The Rock Freakers Ball.
For heavy metal fans, the concert is a cornucopia of established bands and newcomers. Older fans are sure to appreciate one of the most influential bands in speed metal, Motorhead, and southern hard rock band Jackyl, which had its biggest hit with The Lumberjack in 1992.
Newcomers on the scene include Los Angeles hard rock band Buckcherry and Columbia, SC power trio Crossfade. Those two bands will also share the stage with two local bands, Kansas City, Mo., rockers Federation of Horsepower, and Club Wars winners Lowkuss, of Overland Park, Kan.
The night also includes Satan's Side Show, a thousand dollar costume contest, fire dances and freaks of nature!
The base ticket price is $27.50 (plus applicable service charges). There is no T-Bones game that day; therefore, T-Bones vouchers will not be accepted for admission on the date of the concert, nor will T-Bones rainchecks be accepted. As well, the concert will take place rain or shine; there are no refunds or exchanges; and cameras, chairs, and outside food and beverage are not permitted. As well, outside recordings of the concert are not permitted.
