The Kansas City T-Bones (41-48) were unable to add to their lead over the idle Schaumburg Flyers (39-50) tonight as they fell, 5-2, to the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (52-36) at Newman Outdoor Field.  The T-Bones magic number to clinch a playoff berth remains six.

Jeremiah Piepkorn gave Fargo an early lead against Ryan Knippschild (4-7, pictured) with a solo home run in the second inning.  Nic Jackson then drove in the second RedHawks’ run with an RBI single and Ruben Salazar added another with an RBI groundout as Fargo gained a 3-0 advantage with a two-run third inning.

Kansas City plated their only two runs in the fourth on an RBI double by Jim Fasano and sacrifice fly from Jacob Blackwood to pull within one against Billy Weitzman (2-2).  Weitzman lasted six innings for Fargo, allowing just two runs on two hits, four walks and three strikeouts in the victory.

Knippschild surrendered his final run on a sacrifice fly by Justin Justice in the bottom of the fourth.  He left after six innings having allowed four runs on eight hits in the loss.  The left-hander struck out eight in the contest.

Justin James entered for Kansas City to begin the seventh and retired the first four batters he faced before surrendering an infield hit.  Payton Tweddale entered and allowed an RBI single to Carlo Cota to cap off the scoring at 5-2.  James was charged with the run, allowing one hit while striking out three in one and one-thirds innings.  Tweddale surrendered one hit as he got the final two outs for Kansas City.

Tim Lavigne threw a perfect ninth to secure his third save for Fargo.  The RedHawks outhit Kansas City 10-4 in the game.

Cody McAllister (7-4, 4.90) takes the mound for Kansas City tomorrow night opposite Matt Mossey (4-1, 4.59) and the RedHawks.  First pitch is set for 7:00.  Tune into KXTR 1660 AM or click the listen live link on www.tbonesbaseball.com to catch all the action.
