08/19/2005 9:42 PM - Two Kansas City T-Bone errors led to three unearned runs in a four-run third inning, which vaulted the Gary SouthShore RailCats past the Kansas City T-Bones, 6-3, in front of 5,716 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kan.
The RailCats scored six times against T-Bone starter Joe Gannon (L, 0-2), who had retired the first six batters he faced in the game. Gannon allowed a double to rookie Dale Mueller to start the top of the third, and the T-Bones committed errors on grounders hit by the two subsequent batters, loading the bases. RailCat shortstop Jay Pecci's double resulted in two runs, a Fehlandt Lentini fielder's choice brought in the third, and a Jose Yepez two-bagger plated the fourth.
Gannon allowed two more runs in the fourth, with Pecci's sacrifice fly to left and Lentini's single to left giving the T-Bones a 6-0 deficit.
In the bottom of the fourth, Gabby Delgado led off with a triple to right-center against RailCat starter Willie Glen (W, 7-2). Delgado scored on a Ray Brown grounder which was mishandled by the usually surehanded Curt Lee at second base. Two batters later, Brandon Jones smashed his thirteenth homer of the season, a mammoth shot to right which put the T-Bones within three.
But torrential rains came to CommunityAmerica Ballpark in the top of the sixth inning, forcing the game to be called.
