Media Relations

Summer 2020

Media Relations interns will report to the Director of Broadcasting & Media.

There are five to six positions available. The media team all handles general media duties (see below) but each intern will serve in specialized role within the department:

The roles are: Social media, Lead writer, broadcast assistant/producer, Press Box Coordinator, pre and post-game reporter and Assignment/Social reporter producer 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with designing and preparing daily game notes
  • Assist with designing and updating media guide
  • Assist with updating Website and social media sites
  • Write daily game stories and other features for Website
  • Assist with media requests, including gathering photos and stats, preparing credentials, etc.
  • Assist with maintaining Media Relations files
  • Contact news outlets nightly with game scores
  • Conduct interviews with players, coaches and front-office personnel for written and video stories
  • Social media duties including editing, creative and posting
  • Video and audio editing opportunities
  • Possible on air and multimedia hosting

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in Adobe design programs
  • Experience with CMS web systems
  • Video editing skills are a plus
  • Access to a laptop computer is a must
